Arsenal vs Chelsea Preview & Tips
Arsenal passed a major test last weekend as they took all three points from Tottenham in a statement 4-1 win.
Chelsea arrive on the back of two consecutive draws, with the Blues dropping points against newly-promoted Leeds and Burnley.
- The Gunners have won their last two matches against the Blues
- Arsenal have seen both sides hit the back of the net in their last three league games
Head To Head
Arsenal have won seven of their last 10 against Chelsea, with the other three matches ending as draws.
Arsenal Form
Arsenal stormed to a 4-1 win over Tottenham in their 28th match of the season as they made an immediate reply after Manchester City had beaten Newcastle 2-1.
While they have played one more game than City, they lead their rivals by five points. The Gunners will know that they still have their fate in their own hands, with Mikel Arteta's men knowing if they win all of their remaining games, they will finally secure the Premier League trophy.
While Chelsea will like nothing more than to put a massive dent in Arsenal's title hopes, the Gunners can lean on beating Chelsea in the EFL Cup back in January (3-2) and February (1-0), while they have also won seven of their last 10 against their opponents.
While Arsenal's usually so miserly defence has looked slightly more wobbly of late, I do not back the Gunners to lose at home in this one as they continue to prove that they are the team to beat in the league.
Chelsea Form
Chelsea have really struggled to kill games off of late, with the Blues dropping two points against both Leeds and Burnley despite going ahead in both games.
While both newly-promoted sides are awkward to play against, the Blues would have backed themselves to take all three points from them, especially with both matches being played at Stamford Bridge.
Although they have managed to win six of their 13 games on the road this season meaning they boast the second-best away record in the league, their recent run against Arsenal is poor. The Blues have not beaten the Gunners since a 2-0 triumph back in 2021, and I predict that they will see their winless run against Arsenal extended to 12 matches.
Verdict
I am backing Arsenal to take all three points from this massive clash despite having to pick the ball out of their own net once again.
