Arsenal vs Manchester United Preview & Tips

Arsenal are looking to build on the seven-point lead they have build over Manchester City in second as they host Manchester United this weekend.

Manchester United were excellent against Manchester City in their last match as they made it five games without defeat in the league with a 2-0 win.

  • The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 12 in all competitions (W10, D2)
  • Arsenal have seen both sides score in three of their last four in all tournaments

Head To Head

Arsenal have won six of their last 10 against United, with the latter winning three times and one game ending as a draw.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal continue to drive towards the Premier League title this season, with their stunning run seeing them lose just two of their opening 22 matches, winning 15 times and drawing five matches.

At home, the Gunners are yet to lose. Nine wins in 11 outings and two draws has helped them onto 29 points, meaning they boast the best home record in the league. Against a Manchester United side they have dominated in recent seasons, this is the perfect opportunity to potentially move 10 points clear at the summit.

While the Gunners continue to impress going forward, they have struggled to keep clean sheets. A single clean sheet across their last four in all competitions and two clean sheets in nine shows they have not been as miserly at the back as they were earlier in the season.

Manchester United Form

Manchester United arrive at the Emirates Stadium on the back of a five-game unbeaten run that has seen them beat Newcastle and Manchester City, while they have drawn with Wolves, Leeds and Burnley.

The nine points they have collected in their last five means they have moved onto 35 points, a single point behind fourth placed Liverpool. A win here could see them move above Liverpool, who face Bournemouth in a tricky tie this weekend.

However, going to the Emirates and leaving with points has been something only two sides have managed in 11 attempts this season. With just three wins in 11 away games, I am backing against United getting anything from this one.

Verdict

I am backing Arsenal to take all three points from United in this one as they secure victory despite failing to keep a clean sheet.
