Atalanta had a first-half to forget in the first-leg of their clash with Borussia Dortmund as they conceded at the start and end of the opening 45 minutes.
Borussia Dortmund head into the second-leg of their clash with Atalanta boasting a two-goal lead, but they know they can take little for granted on the road.

The pair have met a total of four times, with Dortmund winning twice, Atalanta winning once and one game ending as a draw.

While Atalanta returned to Italy on the back of a defeat, they know they are still in this tie, with their 2-0 loss to their opponents not one that has seen the playoff settled.
If Atalanta can score the first goal then it will see them get under Dortmund’s skin, and in a raucous atmosphere with the pressure ramped up, Atalanta will fancy themselves. While they have lost their last three in Europe, two of these defeats have been away from home.
Indeed, prior to these three matches, they boasted a five-game unbeaten run that featured wins over Club Brugge, Marseille, Eintracht Frankfurt and Chelsea. With the Italian side in desperate need of a win, I back them to beat Dortmund, but I do not predict it will be by enough goals as they secure a one-goal victory that knocks the Italian side out of Europe.
Borussia Dortmund Form
Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win in Germany in the first-leg of their clash with Atalanta will have the travelling side arrive in confident mood, knowing that a defeat by a single goal, a draw or any kind of win will see them move into the next round of the Champions League.
While Dortmund have a two-goal advantage, this will be anything but a simple match. The German side have lost two of their last three in Europe, while they have lost their last two away games in the Champions League.
While Dortmund are my pick to go through to the next round of the Champions League, I do not predict an easy ride for them. In fact, I am backing the Germans to lose to Atalanta by a single goal as they see their hopes of reaching the Round of 16 put under real strain.

I am backing Atalanta to win by a single goal as they miss out on the Champions League Round of 16 stage.
