Their 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen was quickly followed by a 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in their last outing. While they avoided defeat in two tough games, Bayern lacked that killer edge in either clash to ensure they would take all three points from their opponents.

Stuttgart may have started the season well having lost once in six, but if Bayern are to rekindle that feeling of invincibility again, they simply have to win this one at home.

VfB Stuttgart have been excellent at the start of the new season, with six matches resulting in two wins, three draws and one defeat.

The nine points they have picked up means they are just five short of their hosts at the summit, with victory in this one seeing them move to within two points of Bayern.

Despite their strong start, they now face the toughest test of their season as they travel to face Bayern. Stuttgart will look to draw confidence from their 3-1 win over their opponents last season, although they were beaten 3-0 when they visited Bayern last term, and I expect more of the same in this one.
