Borussia Dortmund could not find a way past Werder Bremen in their last Bundesliga match before the international break as they were held in a 0-0 draw.

Heidenheim made it two wins in two in the league as they hammered Augsburg 4-0 in their last outing.

The pair have only met three times before, with Dortmund winning once and both games last season ending as draws.

Borussia Dortmund's season has started in stuttering style, with a win over Eintracht Frankfurt on the opening day followed by a 0-0 draw with Werder Bremen.

Their inability to break Bremen down put a lack of incisive edge on full show as they failed to make any of their nine shots count. While a win and a draw after their opening two matches is hardly a poor record, Dortmund will know that they have to be perfect if they are to mount a challenge this season.

Despite this, I am not backing them to take all three points from this one. Heidenheim have been more than a match for them in recent meetings, and I believe that the home side will be left frustrated this week.

Heidenheim Form

Heidenheim have impressed at the start of the new season, with two consecutive wins helping them onto six points, with the side currently topping the Bundesliga on goal difference.

While they have enjoyed the spoils of their impressive start as they went into the international break at the summit, they need to be realistic. Their wins have come over bottom of the table St Pauli and 15th-placed Augsburg, with Heidenheim profiting from playing two weak sides.

Following the return of club football after the international break, the hard work really begins. I do not predict that the travelling side will extend their winning run to three matches, instead, I am backing them to take a point for the third meeting in a row against Dortmund.
