Chelsea vs Arsenal Preview & Tips
Chelsea arrive for their latest league game on the back of a stunning 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek.
Arsenal flexed their goal-scoring muscles in their last league game as they humbled Tottenham in a 4-1 triumph at the Emirates Stadium.
- The Blues are unbeaten in their last six in all competitions (W5, D1)
- The Gunners have seen both sides score in their last two in the league
Head To Head
Chelsea have won two of their last 10 against Arsenal, with the Gunners winning six times and two matches ending as draws.
Chelsea Form
Chelsea were outstanding in midweek as they roared to a stunning 3-0 win over Barcelona to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches.
Wins over Wolves twice, Tottenham, Burnley and Barcelona have come alongside a draw with Qarabag, with Chelsea taking on a variety of different quality teams. Now though, they take on one of the form teams in European football, with Arsenal winning nine of their opening 12 league games and losing just once.
While the Blues are the underdogs heading into this one, I predict that they will give Arsenal a real test at the weekend. Arsenal have had one less day to recover following their midweek match, while much of the pressure is on them. I predict that while Chelsea will concede against the Gunners, I back them to get something from the match as they ensure Arsenal do not move further clear at the summit.
Arsenal Form
Arsenal knew they needed a big performance against Tottenham at the weekend as they looked to bounce back from a hugely frustrating 2-2 draw with Sunderland prior to the November international break.
They managed to bounce back in style against Tottenham as an Eberechi Eze hat-trick saw the Gunners take all three points in an impressive 4-1 win. This win was their ninth league victory of the season and sent them six points clear at the summit after just 12 games.
This week, they will be aiming for a 10th win of the season, with this sending them nine clear of Chelsea, while they could go 10 clear of Manchester City if they are beaten by Leeds. However, with their midweek clash with Bayern coupled with Chelsea's hugely impressive run, I am backing the Gunners to drop points for just the fourth time in the league this season.
Verdict
I am backing Chelsea/Draw in the double chance market as both sides find the back of the net.
