Club Brugge vs Arsenal Preview & Tips

Club Brugge have struggled for any form of momentum in the Champions League this season, with their 3-0 loss to Sporting Lisbon in their fifth game seeing them sink to a third loss.

Arsenal overcame a major roadblock in their last match as they extended their perfect run in Europe to five games whilst ending Bayern Munich's perfect start.

This will be the first time the two sides have ever met in a competitive match.

Club Brugge have really struggled in the league phase of the Champions League, although they are only two points behind Pafos in 24th and the final spot that would see them avoid a group exit.

One win, one draw and three defeats have seen Club Brugge beat Monaco, draw with Barcelona and lose to each of Atalanta, Bayern Munich and Sporting Lisbon. Their 4-1 win over Monaco may have been a big victory, but this triumph on match-day one now feels like a long time ago.

While Club Brugge are yet to lose at home in Europe, they now face the best side in the competition in Arsenal. With the Gunners in fine form and looking to press home their advantage, I predict that the home team will be the latest side to lose to the Premier League club.

Arsenal have been outstanding in the Champions League this season, storming to five consecutive wins to move to the top of the standings.

Two away games have come and gone, with the Gunners winning twice, scoring five goals and keeping two clean sheets. Their last game ended in a commanding 3-1 win over Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners showing that they are as good as any side in Europe.

While Club Brugge will provide a stern test for the travelling side as they look to bounce back from four without a win in the competition, Arsenal should have far too much for their hosts. They are yet to concede on the road and will fancy their chances of adding to their 15 points.
