Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Preview & Tips
Crystal Palace can move to within two points of Manchester City if they can notch a third consecutive win in the Premier League at the weekend.
Manchester City are breathing down the necks of leaders Arsenal, with the gap between the pair now standing at just two points.
- City have won their last four in all competitions
- Crystal Palace are winless in their last two at home in the league (L1, D1)
- Erling Haaland has scored in two of his last three in all competitions
Head To Head
City have won five of their last 10 against Palace, with the latter winning twice and three games ending as draws.
Crystal Palace Form
Crystal Palace have been excellent this season, balancing a solid defence with an attack that has been able to help them squeeze over the line. With seven wins coming from their opening 15 games, Palace sit above the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Their last two matches have ended in wins over Burnley (1-0) and Fulham (2-1), with Palace able to ease to all six points. This has added to an impressive run of four wins, one draw and one defeat coming in their last six league games.
However, Palace now take on a City side that look like they have found their groove. While Palace will likely give City a headache when the travelling side come forward, I predict that the home team will buckle under the pressure. With one loss and one draw coming from their last two home games in the league, I predict that Palace will see their two-game winning run brought to an end this weekend.
Manchester City Form
Manchester City arrive for their 16th game of the league season on the back of three consecutive league wins. Their latest win in the Premier League came as they brushed a stubborn Sunderland aside in a 3-0 triumph.
Playing on the road has been somewhat troublesome for City this season, with three defeats coming alongside three wins and one draw. However, they arrive for this one on the back of a pulsating 5-4 win over Fulham in their last away game in the league, while they beat the mighty Real Madrid 2-1 in Spain in the week.
Erling Haaland will be chomping at the bit to add to his 15 goals in the league this season, and he scored what proved to be the winner against Real in midweek. While I predict a tight match, I believe City's big striker will once again prove the difference.
Verdict
I am backing Haaland to add to his 15 league goals as City secure the win over their hosts.
