Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham Preview & Tips

Eintracht Frankfurt are no longer able to secure any kind of European football following a woeful campaign in the group stage of the Champions League.

Tottenham have put their awful run in England aside with a brilliant run that has seen them move up to fifth in Europe.

  • Tottenham have scored and conceded a combined 12 goals in their three away games
  • The Germans have scored and conceded 15 goals in three home matches

Head To Head

The pair have met four times before, with Spurs winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Eintracht Frankfurt Form

Eintracht Frankfurt have been awful across their Champions League campaign, with the German side currently sitting in 33rd in the standings with four points.

Their tally of one win, one draw and five defeats means they are four points short of Olympiacos in 24th, with their hopes of securing a playoff spot dashed.

Struggles at the back have characterised their European campaign, with the German side keeping a single clean sheet. With Spurs arriving in good scoring form in the competition, I predict that this one will see goals as both sides hit the back of the net.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham have excelled in the Champions League this season, losing fewer games than the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and PSG, and they could finish as high as third in the table.

Four wins, two draws and one defeat is an impressive record, and they come into this one having already dispatched German opposition in the form of Borussia Dortmund last week. Their 2-0 win puts them a point clear of Barcelona in ninth with one game to come.

The major worry for Sours heading into this one is that they are yet to win on the road, drawing twice and losing once. This one becomes something of a toss up with regard to the winner, then. The home side may look to play a weakened team with a playoff spot no longer within range. If this is the case, Spurs could end their winless run on the road.

However, the safer option is to back goals, with both sides hitting the back of the net.

Verdict

I am backing over 3.5 goals in an entertaining clash that sees both sides failing to keep a clean sheet once again.
