England vs Serbia Preview & Tips

England are yet to find any real resistance on the field as they have stormed to the top of their World Cup qualifying group without looking back.

Serbia are battling for second-place in Group K with Albania a single point above them heading into their seventh match.

The pair have met twice before, with England winning 1-0 and 5-0 in their two matches.

England's six games have resulted in six wins and 18 points, with the Three Lions sitting seven clear of Albania in Group K with two games to come.

Despite already securing their place at the 2026 World Cup, Thomas Tuchel and England will be targeting a perfect run in qualifying as they aim to be a major force at the competition next year.

While the quality of opposition will jump up massively, England will relish the challenge Serbia provide as they look to stay compact as they try to frustrate England. Goals at the World Cup next year may prove tough to come by with sides fighting for their place in the knockout stages. This simply makes this sort of game, where England see a lot of the ball against a team happy to defend, crucial to their development.

Harry Kane continues to be central to England going forward, and he is my man to score yet again. Kane has found the back of the net six times in qualifying, and I believe he will breach Serbia's defence this week.

Serbia Form

Serbia have not been bad across their World Cup qualifying campaign, but their hopes of stunning England and topping the group took a knockout blow in their fourth and fifth outings.

Their fourth game gave them a big chance to beat England, but they were humbled in a 5-0 home loss. They then slumped to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Albania which has seen Serbia slip eight points behind leaders England and one behind Albania in second.

Their 3-1 win over Andorra in their last outing got them back on track, but their hopes of finishing in second rest on bettering Albania's last two results. I do not predict they will get the result they need in this one as they lose to England again.

I am backing Harry Kane to find the net once again as England make it seven consecutive wins to nil in qualifying.
