Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool in their last league game as they saw their six-match unbeaten run brought to an end.

Newcastle made it four without a win in their last match as they were beaten 1-0 by Brighton at St James' Park.

Head To Head

Chelsea have won five of their last 10 against the Magpies, with Newcastle winning twice and three games ending as draws after 90 minutes.

Chelsea had their moments against Liverpool in their last league game, but they still slipped to a defeat as they were once again beaten by one of the top sides in the league.

Chelsea's rebuild is still ongoing, and while they only lost by a single goal against Liverpool, the difference between them and the top sides is still large. Despite moving up to sixth with 14 points this term, Chelsea have been far from perfect at home. Indeed, they have won one of their four at Stamford Bridge, with two games ending as draws.

While the Blues will hope to better their underwhelming run at home this season, I am backing against them picking up a win as they are forced to settle for a third draw in five at home.

Newcastle Form

Newcastle's brilliant start to the season has made way for a worrying run of four without a win in the league heading into their ninth match.

Defeats to Fulham and Brighton have sandwiched draws with Manchester City and Everton, with the Magpies securing two points from a possible 12. While they are still very much in the conversation when it comes to the European spots, they will not want to see the five-point gap between themselves and Aston Villa in fourth stretch further.

The Magpies have struggled to beat Chelsea consistently of late, although they have managed to draw with the Blues after 90 minutes in three of their last five. With this in mind, I predict that Newcastle will find a way to extend Chelsea' disappointing run at home.
