Liverpool had a real fight on their hands in their last outing as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Nottingham Forest in their last game as they saw a three-game winning run brought to an end.

Head To Head

Liverpool have won four of their last 10 against Chelsea, with the Blues winning once and the other five ending as draws.

Liverpool were far from perfect against Crystal Palace in their last match, but they managed to get the job done as they secured a 1-0 win to make it three wins on the bounce in the league.

Their current run means they sit at the top of the Premier League table with 18 points, one clear of Manchester City and Arsenal, while they are four points ahead of Chelsea. A win here could take them further ahead at the summit as the Reds look to notch their seventh victory in eight.

However, Liverpool have had to share the points in three of their last five against the Blues, while the Reds have laboured to wins over Wolves and Palace in their last two. With this in mind, I am predicting a frustrating day at the office for Liverpool.

Chelsea Form

Chelsea have impressed of late after putting together a run of six without a defeat in the league following their 2-0 loss to Manchester City on the opening day.

Wins over Wolves, Bournemouth, West Ham and Brighton have come alongside draws with Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. Impressively, Chelsea are still perfect on the road, winning all three of their outings.

If this match was being played at Stamford Bridge then I would be less confident in Chelsea snatching something from the Reds. As it is, the Blues have won three of three and scored 10 goals and conceded twice away from home. Meanwhile, the Reds have lost one of their last two at home, and I am backing the travelling side to end Liverpool's winning run.

Verdict

I am backing Chelsea/Draw in this one. The Blues have been very impressive on the road, and I predict that they will give the Reds some real issues in what could be a very entertaining clash.
