Head To Head
This will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive match.
Manchester City Form
Manchester City stormed into a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes against Slovan Bratislava in their last European game and did not look back as they secured a 4-0 win over their opponents.
In what was their first European win of the season, City made amends for their goalless draw against Inter Milan in their opening match and made it two without defeat in Europe. Currently sitting in eighth in the standings, City will want to edge up the table with another win.
Borussia Dortmund currently boast the best attack in the competition, and City will be aiming to edge closer to their tally of 10 goals as they face an opponent they are massive favourites to beat. Phil Foden seems to have a knack for scoring Champions League goals having scored in his last game, and I am backing him to hit the back of the net in midweek.
Sparta Prague Form
Sparta Prague have been impressive in their opening two Champions League matches, with the side boasting a two-game unbeaten run.
Their 3-0 hammering of RB Salzburg in game one was followed by a tighter 1-1 draw with Stuttgart as they moved onto four points from two games, meaning they are level on points with their next opponents.
A win in this one would be the result of the competition so far, but this is incredibly unlikely. City are far too strong for the travelling side, and I predict the away team will taste defeat for the first time in Europe this season.
Verdict
I am backing Phil Foden to get on the scoresheet as City secure another win to nil in Europe.
