Manchester United vs Chelsea Tips

Manchester United needed their 5-2 win over Leicester in midweek following a stunning 2-1 loss to West Ham in the league at the weekend.

Chelsea slipped to a 2-0 loss against Newcastle as they were knocked out of the EFL Cup at St James' Park.

Five of the last 10 meetings between the pair have ended in draws, with United winning three times and Chelsea winning twice.

Manchester United came out on the right side of a seven-goal EFL Cup clash as they eliminated Leicester in a 5-2 triumph.

This win put an end to a two-game winless, although United cannot get ahead of themselves. Indeed, they have won two of their last nine, losing twice and drawing the other five in this run.

Their inability to secure the win cost Erik ten Hag his job, and I believe it will once again prove an issue regardless of who leads United this weekend. Chelsea are strong on the road, and I predict that United will drop points at home once again.

Chelsea Form

Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Newcastle in the EFL Cup in midweek was a disappointing result, although it can often be difficult to take on a side you have played mere days before, which was the case in their meeting with the Magpies.

Enzo Maresca will likely look to rotate his players once again, with Cole Palmer the big omission from the starting XI. Of course, placing Palmer on the bench gave the star some much-needed time away from the field, although it was clear that Chelsea missed him massively.

With Chelsea looking to protect a decent record on the road in which they have won three of their four away from home, I am backing the Blues to frustrate their hosts at the weekend.
