Manchester United have not gotten off to a great start to the new season, with a 2-1 loss to Brighton in their last match highlighting their weakness in both attack and defence.

Liverpool battled to a 2-0 win over Brentford in their last outing as they made it two consecutive wins in the league.

Liverpool have won five of their last 10 against their opponents, with United winning three times and two games ending as draws.

Manchester United would have been desperate to have started the new season with a good run of form, but they flattered to deceive against Fulham in their opening match before they were beaten by Brighton.

Their clash with Brighton was one that was very tight, but they fell asleep late in the match as their hosts scored in injury time to take all three points and hand United their first loss of the season. Now, with Liverpool travelling to Old Trafford, the home side have very little time to regroup.

The home team will always fancy themselves at home, but I am backing against them picking up any points in this one as they are beaten by the better side. This will only further increase the pressure on a side that looks entirely beatable.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool have started the new season with two wins and two clean sheets, with the Reds impressing at both ends of the pitch.

Mohamed Salah has managed to score in both outings, while Arne Slot's men look good at the back. Their matches have not been perfect, with the Reds guilty of giving the opposition chances, but they are yet to concede in an impressive start to the season.

With Salah in such good form, I am backing him to lead Liverpool to victory with another goal as the travelling side pile the pressure on their already beleaguered hosts.
