Newcastle were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth in their last match as they made it two without defeat in the league.

Tottenham hammered Everton 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend to secure their first win of the season.

Newcastle have won four of their last 10 against Spurs, with Tottenham winning four matches and two games ending as draws.

Newcastle were left frustrated by Bournemouth in their last match as they could only take a point from their away game, thus seeing them fail to make it two wins in the league.

Despite this draw, the Magpies will arrive for this one full of confidence as they look to build on a battling 1-0 win over Southampton in their first home league game. While they were hardly prolific in front of goal, they were excellent at the back, and they will fancy their chances against a Tottenham side that struggled in front of goal in their last away game.

With two wins in their last two meetings with Spurs, I am backing the Magpies to notch an important win.

Tottenham have been unconvincing at the start of the new season, with a stuttering draw at newly-promoted Leicester quickly followed by a 4-0 win over Everton.

Despite romping to all three points against the Toffees, Tottenham were given a real helping hand by their opponents, with Everton well off the pace on the day.

Their disappointing performance in their only away game of the season suggests they will find it tough against a Newcastle outfit that will want to make it two clean sheets in as many home games.
