Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea Preview & Tips
Nottingham Forest have been in woeful form this season, and they arrive for their first game after the international break on the back of two consecutive defeats.
Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1 in their last league game as they secured one of the results of the season so far.
- Chelsea are unbeaten in their last three against Forest (W2, D1)
- The pair have seen both sides score in two of their last three
- Chelsea have seen both sides hit the back of the net in their last four league matches
Head To Head
Chelsea have won six of their last 10 against Forest, with the latter winning once and three games ending as draws.
Nottingham Forest Form
Nottingham Forest have struggled for any kind of momentum this season, with their 3-1 win over Brentford in their opening match making way for a run that has seen their chances of being relegated build.
A two-game losing run heading into this one has seen the side lose 1-0 to Sunderland before then being beaten 2-0 by Newcastle. At home, they have been disappointing, losing two of their opening three in a run that has seen them slip down to 17th in the league.
While the Blues have been poor at the back, Forest do not look like they have the firepower to beat their opponents. While I back them to hit the back of the net, their inability to win games will likely come back to haunt them once again.
Chelsea Form
Chelsea have been inconsistent this season, with the Blues unable to make the most out of some impressive performances.
A solid four-game winning run earlier in the season made way for defeats to Manchester United and Brighton before the London club beat reigning champions Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
The focus in this match will be on taking all three points from a side that the Blues should beat. At the back, Chelsea have been very poor, keeping just two clean sheets in seven attempts. While I back their woes at the back to continue, their quality going forward should shine through.
Verdict
I am backing Chelsea to secure a much-needed win over Forest as both sides hit the back of the net.
