Southampton are yet to pick up a point in the Premier League this season, with the Saints losing all three of their matches so far.

Southampton have found returning to the Premier League a tough ask, with the Saints slipping to three defeats in as many games.

Their 1-0 loss to Newcastle in game one was quickly followed by a loss to Nottingham Forest. Neither defeat was a resounding one, but they were followed by a 3-1 loss to Brentford on the road. Clearly, home advantage has enabled them to keep matches tight.

While the Saints have struggled so far, they face an opponent that has been awful this season. United have only scored twice across their three matches, and I predict that Southampton will notch their fourth draw in their last five against their opponents.

Manchester United Form

Manchester United have been woeful this season, and they currently sit in 14th with three points, six short of Manchester City at the summit.

While any chance of United winning the title was incredibly slim at the start of the season, it has been squeezed further by their poor start. Heading into the international break, United lost 2-1 to Brighton before once again being humbled by Liverpool in a 3-0 loss.

While United are the favourites to win this one, their awful record this season speaks for itself. Meanwhile, three draws in their last four meetings alludes to Southampton having all of the tools to frustrate their misfiring opponents.
