Tottenham vs Everton Tips

Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester in their opening match as they failed to make the most out of going 1-0 up in the game.

Head To Head

Tottenham have won four of their last 10 against Everton, with the Toffees winning twice and four games ending as draws.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham's Premier League campaign began with a frustrating 1-1 draw against newly-promoted Leicester City as a lack of incisive finishing cost them two points.

Despite dominating the ball and hitting the target with seven efforts, Tottenham could not find the all-important second goal in the game. While they did avoid defeat on the opening day, Spurs were once again guilty of dropping points against a side they should have beaten.

This weekend, Spurs simply have to win. Everton were hammered 3-0 on the opening day and Tottenham have the advantage of playing at home. The major worry for Spurs is that if they are to fall behind in the game, then the crowd could turn on them.

Everton Form

Everton were shown the enormity of the task in front of them on the opening day as they were hammered 3-0 by Brighton.

While Brighton played very well, the Toffees know that they have to make Goodison Park a fortress, something they failed to do on the opening day. Now, they face the daunting task of travelling to London to face an opponent that was also disappointing on day one and will be looking to bounce back.

While I predict that the Toffees will be better defensively this week, I believe they will slip to a second-successive defeat in the league as they are denied their first points of the season.

Verdict

I am backing Tottenham to get their first win of the new season in a match that sees less than 3.5 goals scored.
