Tottenham were humiliated in their last match as they were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Manchester City battled to a 1-0 win over Southampton in their last league game as they extended their winning run to five matches.

City have won five of their last 10 against Spurs, with Tottenham winning four matches and one game ending as a draw.

Tottenham were given a reality check at the weekend as they were stunned in a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the league.

Palace had failed to win any of their previous eight in the league, and yet they managed to take all three points from Spurs in their ninth outing. This was Tottenham's fourth defeat in nine league games, and it leaves them languishing in eighth with 13 points, 10 short of Manchester City at the summit.

While Tottenham have been fairly good at home this season, they were beaten by Arsenal the last time they hosted one of the top sides, and I am backing more of the same in this one.

Manchester City Form

Manchester City have been excellent this season, avoiding defeat across the entirety of their campaign.

A 3-2 loss to Barcelona in a friendly back in July was the last time they had to tase defeat, with 12 wins and three draws coming since then. While their 1-0 win over Southampton in their last match was far from comfortable, it shows City are continually getting the job done.

City also boast two wins in their last two away games against Spurs, and with Erling Haaland in scoring mood once again, I am backing City to eliminate Tottenham in their EFL Cup clash.
