At the end of the group-stage, Lazio, Athletic Bilbao, Manchester United and Tottenham finished in first, second, third and fourth respectively, with the quartet the top-four options heading into the knockout stages.

The knockout stages have come and gone, and United and Spurs, who finished in third and fourth, are the only teams left to battle for the trophy. The semi-finals saw Manchester United hammer Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate as Tottenham eased past Bodo/Glimt in a 5-1 triumph.

The final two sides left in the competition are very interesting as the two clubs have been awful in the Premier League. United sit in 16th while Tottenham are 17th. The pair are closer to the bottom of the table than they are to Liverpool at the top after torrid league seasons.

Despite this, both sides have the chance to win a major piece of European silverware, while this would also see them secure a place in the Champions League for next season.

Last season, Serie A outfit Atalanta secured the trophy following a stunning run to the final in which they humbled Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in a hugely impressive result.

In the new system, the top-eight sides all moved into the knockout stages, while the sides finishing between ninth and 24th had to battle in the playoffs. The sides finishing in 25th and below were eliminated from European competition for the season.

With the chance to secure Champions League football for next season by securing the Europa League trophy this term, each side in the competition has fought tooth and nail to go all the way and follow in Atalanta's footsteps by securing the Europa League trophy in 2025.

Which side do you think will win the Europa League in 2025? Will United or Spurs end their season positively this week?
