Inter Milan come into the new season looking for a win after notching the title on the back of 29 victories in 38 league games.

Genoa have impressed in preseason, winning four of their five and only tasting defeat once at the hands of Brescia.

Despite their strong run, Genoa come into this one as big underdogs as they host the reigning Serie A champions. Genoa did manage to notch 12 wins in 38 matches, finishing a single place below Napoli in the standings as they looked to prove they can battle with the best.

While Genoa will be keen to build on this finish by edging towards the top-half of the table, they will likely have to remain content with slipping to a defeat in their opening match of the campaign.

Inter Milan Form

Inter Milan have proved too good for Genoa in recent times, with the former not tasting defeat against their opponents since February 2018.

The four points they took from their two matches against Genoa last term helped them onto 94 points last season, with this enough to see them win the title by a 19-point margin.

Now, Inter know they will have a target on their backs, while they will also want to avoid the same fate as the 2022/23 champions Napoli, who won the title before finishing 41 points short of Inter last season. With this in mind, I am backing Inter to secure a win to nil as they start with a statement victory.
