Getafe vs Real Madrid Preview & Tips

Getafe arrive for their latest league game on the back of a hugely disappointing run of four without a win in La Liga.

Real Madrid bounced back from their loss to Atletico Madrid with a battling 3-1 win over Villarreal.

  • Either side has seen both teams score in their last three league games
  • Real have won each of their last seven against their opponents

Head To Head

Real Madrid have won eight of their last 10 against Getafe, with the latter winning once and one game ending as a draw.

Getafe Form

Getafe's solid start to the season has made way for a worrying run that is threatening to see all of their early-season momentum rendered pointless.

A run of four without a win began with a 3-0 loss to Barcelona, with draws against Alaves and Levante followed by a 2-1 loss to Osasuna. While it is too early in the season to begin thinking of relegation, Getafe will be desperate to pick up as many points as they can heading into the new year.

However, with seven consecutive defeats at the hands of their opponents, it is tough to see Getafe taking any points from this one. While I do expect them to score, I am backing against the home side returning from the international break with any points.

Real Madrid Form

Real Madrid have been good this season, although their stunning 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid will likely still be ringing in their ears.

Going 2-1 up in the game, Real collapsed as the game wore on, conceding four times without reply. For all of their attacking firepower, they were humiliated in a game in which Atleti outscored them with ease. Despite this loss, Real have still managed to top the table, sitting two points clear of Barcelona after eight games.

In this one, the focus must be on building on their recent 3-1 win over Villarreal. While I back Real to win this game, I do not see them keeping a clean sheet. The side have conceded nine goals in eight games, while they have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last six La Liga matches.

Verdict

I am backing both sides to score as Real fight their way to an eighth win of the league season.
