Hoffenheim were hammered 3-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt in their last Bundesliga match as they went into the international break on the back of a defeat.

Bayer Leverkusen also slipped to a defeat in their last game as they were beaten 3-2 by RB Leipzig.

Bayer have won five of their last 10 against their opponents, with Hoffenheim winning twice and the other three ending as draws.

Hoffenheim began the season in fine style as they won a five-goal thriller against Holstein Kiel to secure all three points.

This match was immediately followed by a 3-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt as Hoffenheim struggled to contain their opponents. Frustratingly for them, they had clawed their way back into the game with a goal in the 54th minute to make it 2-1 before conceding two minutes later as they lost all momentum.

While Hoffenheim clearly have the ability to score goals having found the net four times in two games, they are conceding too often, and I believe their leaky defence will come back to haunt them this week.

Bayer Leverkusen Form

Bayer Leverkusen were left stunned in their second match of the season as they saw a 2-0 lead evaporate, with RB Leipzig securing a stunning 3-2 win.

This loss means Bayer now sit three points short of Heidenheim and Bayern Munich at the summit. Of course, the season is incredibly young, but Bayer know they need to win matches at home if they are to mount a serious defence of their title this season.

With a trip to face Hoffenheim to come, I am backing Leverkusen to show they are to be feared once again this term as they secure a second win in three outings.
