Inter Milan vs Arsenal Preview & Tips


Inter Milan arrive for their seventh Champions League match of the season knowing that they need to secure a positive result if they are to keep hold of a top eight berth. 

Arsenal can secure their place in the top eight with a point in this game after their stunning start has seen the Gunners secure all 18 points on offer.

The pair have met a total of four times, with Arsenal winning twice and Inter winning twice.

Inter Milan have suddenly seen their perfect start to the Champions League season make way for a worrying brace of defeats that has seen the Italian side slip down the standings.

Currently sitting in sixth with 12 points, Inter now trail Arsenal at the top by six points. More worrying will be that Liverpool in ninth are only denied a better spot than Inter by the superior goal difference of the Italians. Defeat in this match may yet see Inter slide out of the top eight places.

While the Italians have won two of their three at home, it is a huge worry that the last European home game they hosted ended in a 1-0 loss to a Liverpool side that has been far from consistent. With two defeats coming in their last two matches, I worry for Inter in this one and predict they will be consigned to a third consecutive defeat by an Arsenal side in fine form.

Arsenal Form


Arsenal have been outstanding in the Champions League this season and show no signs of letting their fast start slow down.

Six consecutive wins has sent the London side to the top of the standings, with Arsenal accounting for some big names like Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich along the way. Clearly, Arsenal have been given an array of tests that they have risen to each time.

Inter Milan will provide a stern test, but it is one that Arsenal will fancy themselves in. The Gunners have not been denied across their opening six in Europe, scoring 17 goals and conceding once. With this in mind, I am backing the Gunners to come away with the points as they make it seven consecutive wins in the tournament.

This win will ensure that Arsenal keep hold of top spot whilst keeping them ahead of Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City, who face Bodo/Glimt this week.

I am backing the Gunners to take all three points from this one as they extend their perfect run in the Champions League.
