Le Havre will be looking for a more positive start to their season in 2024 after surviving relegation by the skin of their teeth last term.

The side ended on 32 points, three clear of 17th-place Lorient in what was a very tight relegation battle. With just seven wins in 34 attempts, Le Havre were not able to secure maximum points often enough, while they only scored 34 goals, less than half of the 81 their opponents managed.

While Le Havre did notch a 3-3 draw with PSG in their last meeting, it is tough to see them stopping the reigning champions from taking all three points from this one.

PSG come into the new season looking to make a major statement after winning the Ligue 1 title by nine points ahead of Monaco in second.

While this gap would seem cavernous in many other leagues, it actually showed that PSG were not at their best in a league they so often dominate. While the Champions League crown will be at the top of their list this term, they know getting off to a winning start in the league is the best way to build towards their European campaign.

Despite losing star man Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, I am backing the reigning champions to have far too much for their opponents in their opening game.
