Leeds vs Manchester City Preview & Tips

Leeds are aiming for a third consecutive result against a top six side after taking a point from both Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Manchester City are hot on the heels of leaders Arsenal, with the travelling side hoping to make it four successive wins in the league.

City are unbeaten in their last five league games (W4, D1)
City have won by a single goal in their last two against Leeds

Head To Head

City have secured wins in six of their last 10 against Leeds, with the latter winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Leeds Form

Leeds have secured five points from their last three matches, with a win over Nottingham Forest followed by a pair of draws against Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Their excellent recent run means they have leapfrogged Tottenham, with the newly-promoted side now six clear of West Ham in 18th. Three more wins from their final 11 matches would see them onto 40 points, with this supposedly the marker for safety from relegation.

While the home side will be confident that they can give City issues after holding both Chelsea and Villa in February, they have struggled against their opponents. Their last five matches against City have all ended in defeats, and I predict another loss for the home side against their opponents.

Manchester City Form

Manchester City have been able to take advantage of Arsenal dropping points in two of their last three league games, with the former now five points short of the leaders with a game in hand.

While points on the board are usually better than games in hand, City will know that a win in their extra match will see the gap between themselves and the Gunners cut to just two points. Despite sitting in 16th in the competition, Leeds away will constitute one of City's biggest remaining challenges, with the relegation threatened side taking points from and pushing a number of top teams.

While I predict a tight match, I do not back against City winning this one. Pep Guardiola's side have looked good of late, and I back them to win by a single goal, which has been the case in two of their last three league games and in their last two against Leeds.

I am backing City to win this game by a one-goal margin as they pile the pressure on Arsenal at the summit.
