Liverpool vs Brighton Preview & Tips
Liverpool were able to secure a vital win over Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek as they beat their opponents 1-0.
Brighton ground to a 1-1 draw with West Ham in their last league game as they failed to get back to winning ways.
- The Reds are unbeaten in their last four in all competitions (W2, D2)
- Brighton are winless in their last two (D1, L1)
Head To Head
Liverpool have won four of their last 10 against Brighton, with the latter winning three times and three games ending as draws.
Liverpool Form
Liverpool are in desperate need of a league win after slipping to two frustrating draws against Sunderland and Leeds.
Their win over Inter in the Champions League in midweek was a much-improved performance, with this extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to four games. The worry for the Reds will be that they have dropped points against two of the newly-promoted sides in massively underwhelming performances.
Creating and scoring chances consistently has been an issue of late, but they will find an opponent with a defence that has conceded 21 times this season. I predict that the Reds will find a way past Brighton in a tight one-goal win over their opponents.
Brighton Form
Brighton have struggled for consistency this season, winning six of their opening 15 matches, drawing five times and losing four games.
On the road, Brighton have lost three of their seven outings, while they have only won one of their last four away from home. Their trip to face Liverpool at Anfield is one Brighton will feel they can seriously challenge in, especially when considering the Reds are winless in their last two at home.
However, Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four in all competitions, while they have beaten Brighton in three of their last four meetings. I predict that while this will be a tight game, the Reds will pull away from the travelling side.
Verdict
I am backing Liverpool to secure a crucial win against Brighton as they win by a one-goal margin, something they have secured in their last three victories against their opponents.
