Lorient were consigned to a third league game without a win as they slipped to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Angers on Sunday.

PSG proved far too strong for Brest in their last game as they cruised to a 3-0 win that ended a run of two draws in the league.

PSG have won six of their last 10 against Lorient, with the latter winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Lorient have struggled to consistently win matches this season, with the threat of an impending relegation battle not something that has been able to spur them on to multiple victories.

While Lorient have not been too bad against PSG in recent meetings, going unbeaten in four of their last seven, it is worth noting that their last two home games against PSG have ended in defeats.

While I back Lorient to continue to see goals in their matches, with over 2.5 goals scored in all of their four home games in the league this season, I do not see them winning this one. PSG are far too good and they are starting to hit their stride.

PSG have woken up after a run of one win in four league games had seen the reigning champions lose to Marseille and draw with Lille and Strasbourg.

While each of the three sides they have dropped points against have been fairly food this season, PSG’s run was not akin to the all-conquering performances we have come to expect from the best team in France.

Their 3-0 win over Brest was a welcome return to form in the league, with this seeing them move back to the summit. With a number of teams currently in the hunt for top-spot, I am backing PSG to show their class as they see over 2.5 goals in a statement win.
