Manchester City vs Liverpool Preview & Tips

Manchester City eased to a 3-1 win over Bournemouth in their last league game as they bounced back from a 1-0 away loss to Aston Villa in the game before.

Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 2-0 in their last league outing as they put an end to a run of four consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

City have won their last four home league games

City have won two of their last 10 against Liverpool, with the Reds winning five and three games ending as draws.

Manchester City continue to impress after their shaky start to the season, with the former champions arriving with three consecutive wins in three different competitions.

A battling 3-1 win over Swansea in the cup was followed by a win over Bournemouth by the same scoreline in the league at the weekend. City then hammered Borussia Dortmund 4-1 at the Etihad in the Champions League, with the Premier League side far too good for their Bundesliga opponents.

While City have not been great against Liverpool in recent meetings, they are flying heading into this one, with six wins coming from their last seven. They also boast six consecutive home wins in all competitions, while Liverpool have lost their last three on the road.

With Erling Haaland in supreme form having scored 13 goals in the league this season, I back the big striker to lead City to a statement win as they head into the November international break on the back of a win.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool may sit in third in the league table, but they have been anything but convincing this season, with the reigning champions struggling in the league.

Their 2-0 win over Aston Villa put an end to a four-game losing run in the league, while a 1-0 victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League was a big result. The big worry for the Reds will be that both wins came at home, with four of their last five away games in all competitions ending in defeats.

A win in this one would see the Reds leapfrog their hosts, but Liverpool's away form makes it more difficult to back them. Three consecutive away defeats in the league coupled with City's four successive wins at home in the competition means I am backing the home side to take all three points.

I am backing Erling Haaland to net once again as City take all three points from the reigning champions.
