PSG are looking to secure a second win in the defence of their Ligue 1 title as they host Montpellier in their first home game of the new campaign.

Montpellier were held to a 1-1 draw by Strasbourg in their opening match as they took a point from their first home game.

PSG were good value for the win in their opening match with Le Havre, but they were made to sweat on the points as they edged into the final 10 minutes at 1-1. While they did mange to score three times in the latter-stages of the game to win 4-1, they need to ensure they take their chances moving forward.

Victory means the reigning champions began the defence of their title with a win, and they now play their first home game of the season in front of an expectant stadium.

Ousmane Dembele will hope to have more of an impact for PSG following the departure of Kylian Mbappe, and I am backing him to notch his second goal in as many matches.

Montpellier Form

Montpellier saw their first chance to get a win in the new season elude them as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Strasbourg.

The pair were pretty even in the match, with both having their chances to win the game. However, Strasbourg will be far more pleased as they avoided defeat on the road in game one. Now, Montpellier face their toughest test of the season as they travel to take on the reigning champions.

With 11 defeats in their last 11 meetings with PSG, this one will likely see their losing run extended further.
