Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo Preview & Tips

Real Madrid were able to cruise to a 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in their last match as they ended a run of three consecutive draws in the league.

Celta Vigo slipped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Espanyol at the weekend as their inconsistent start to the season went on.

Real have won all of their last 10 matches against their opponents in a dominant run.

Real Madrid knew they had to win their match against Athletic Bilbao in midweek after they had drawn their previous three and Barcelona had beaten Atletico Madrid 3-1.

Real got their win as they scored a goal per point in an impressive 3-0 away win over Bilbao. Kylian Mbappe was once again in scintillating form as he scored a brace to take his tally for the season to 16 in the league. The win means Real are a point behind Barcelona after 15 games.

Real will want to pounce on any slip-up from Barcelona, meaning a win on their own turf is vital. All three of the recent draws they have picked up have come on the road, with their last four league games being played away from home. With Real returning to home comforts at the weekend, I back Mbappe and his teammates to shine.

Celta Vigo Form

Celta Vigo have been better of late, with three wins coming from their last five league games as they battle to climb up the table.

Wins over Osasuna, Levante and Alaves have come in tight games, while defeats to Barcelona and Espanyol have left Celta wondering what might have been. Importantly, Celta have only won three league games this season, with all three victories coming across their last five. Have they turned a corner, or is this just a flash in the pan?

I back the latter. Celta have struggled to really get going this season, and I predict that they will struggle against Real. Nine goals scored and seven conceded on the road shows Celta have generally tried to stay compact at the back, with wins by a single goal their aim. Against a Real side that scored three goals in midweek and have Mbappe in fine form, I predict that they will struggle.

I am backing Mbappe to continue his stunning run of scoring in the league as he leads Real to yet another La Liga win.
