Real Madrid vs Levante Preview & Tips
Real Madrid desperately need to find a way to get back to winning contests on the football field after a pair of defeats across cup competitions.
Levante are unbeaten in their last three in La Liga, with their 1-1 draw against Espanyol ensuring their solid start to 2026 went on.
- Real Madrid have only kept one clean sheet across their last nine in all competitions
- The last three meetings between the sides have seen over 3.5 goals scored
Head To Head
Real have won five of their last 10 against Levante, with the latter winning three times and two games ending as draws.
Real Madrid Form
Real Madrid's recent form will be a huge worry to all involved at the club, with the side knocked out of two cup competitions and now sitting four points short of Barcelona, who take on Real Sociedad this week, at the top of La Liga.
Last weekend, Real were stunned in a 3-2 Super Cup loss to arch-rivals Barcelona. The departure of Xabi Alonso as manager was a move Real would have hoped would give them a shot in the arm, but they were left humiliated by Albacete, who knocked them out of the Copa del Rey in a 3-2 triumph in midweek.
Now, Real simply have to find a way to return to winning matches. I predict that they will likely try to get back to winning ways by blowing Levante away with their superior attack. However, I back this to give the home side issues at the back as their leaky defence concedes again.
Levante Form
Levante were able to put an end to their long five-game losing run in the league with a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad. This has since snowballed into a three-game unbeaten run that has given their hopes of survival a real boost.
Currently sitting on 14 points from 18 games, Levante are four short of Mallorca in 17th. The season is still young and it simply means that if Levante can continue their impressive run, they will likely move out of the bottom three spots.
The main worry for the travelling side will be that a wounded Real Madrid side is a very dangerous opponent to face. I predict goals will be the order of the day in this one as both sides score in a match that sees over 3.5 goals.
The last three meetings between the sides have seen over 3.5 goals scored, while Real have seen five goals scored in their last two in all competitions.
Verdict
I am backing both sides to score and over 3.5 goals in a high-scoring game between the pair.
