Real Madrid arrive for their sixth Champions League outing on the back of an entertaining 4-3 win over Olympiacos.

Manchester City were consigned to a shock 2-0 loss at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen in their last European match as they slipped further short of Arsenal at the top of the standings.

Real have won four of their last 10 against City, with the English side winning four matches and two ending as draws.

Real Madrid are looking to continue their solid start to the Champions League season as they look to build on securing four wins from their opening five matches.

The Spanish side have been perfect at home, beating Marseille 2-1 before then downing Juventus 1-0. The one blot on their copybook came as they were beaten 1-0 by a misfiring Liverpool at Anfield, with this seeing Real’s hopes of going perfect in the group dashed.

In their last European game, Real saw star forward Kylian Mbappe net four goals as he secured all three points for his side in a 4-3 win over Olympiacos. As he looks to outshine Erling Haaland in the goal-scoring charts, I back Mbappe to hit the back of the net once again.

Manchester City Form

Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy in Manchester City’s last European game against Bayer Leverkusen backfired as the English side slipped to a shock 2-0 home loss.

Defeat was the second time City have dropped points in Europe this season after their 2-2 draw with Monaco, with their other three wins helping them onto 10 points. While they are still very much in the conversation for a top-spot, if they lose this match, they will slip further behind their hosts and a number of other sides.

Erling Haaland has continued to prove his quality in front of goal with five goals in Europe’s top competition. With Haaland likely to lead City’s attack in this blockbuster match, I back him to go head to head with Mbappe as the pair both hit the back of the net.

Real Madrid v Man City

I am backing both Haaland and Mbappe to breach the opposition’s goal as they put their goal scoring ability on full show in this mammoth encounter.
