Real Madrid vs Sevilla Preview & Tips

Real Madrid are in need of a solid run of wins after a streak of two wins in six league games has seen them slip behind Barcelona in La Liga.

Sevilla are looking to extend their own two-game unbeaten run after they were able to hammer Oviedo 4-0 in the last match.

Real have won eight of their last 10 against Sevilla, with the other two meetings ending as draws.

Real Madrid have found wins tough to come by of late, with the side securing two victories across their last six league matches.

Wins over Athletic Bilbao and Alaves have come with a trio of draws and a defeat to Celta Vigo. The nine points from a possible 18 that they have picked up means Barcelona have flown to the top of the ladder, leading Real by four points.

Real simply have to make it two consecutive wins in the league, especially against an opponent that has lost eight of their 16 matches this season. Kylian Mbappe continues to torment the opposition in La Liga this season, scoring 17 goals. I back him to drag his side to a seventh win in eight home games as Real pile the pressure on the leaders.

Sevilla Form

Sevilla have been fairly good this season, avoiding defeat in half of their 16 matches. With six wins and two draws coming alongside eight defeats, Sevilla have managed to move five points clear of Girona in 18th and the final relegation spot.

It will be a major worry for Sevilla that while they have won three of their eight on the road, none of these wins have come in their last four. Indeed, Sevilla have lost three of their last four away games, drawing the other match, with this draw coming against lowly Valencia.

While Sevilla have been a more stubborn opponent of late, I predict they will struggle against their hosts. Sevilla have not beaten Real since 2018, with 11 defeats and two draws coming since then.
