Real Madrid were incredibly disappointing in their first match of the new La Liga season as they had to settle for a point against Mallorca.

Real have won eight of their last 10 against Valladolid, with the other two games ending in stalemates.

Real Madrid's inability to get past Mallorca in their opening game came as a real surprise as the side's attacking talents struggled to impose themselves.

What was more worrying for the side was that despite enjoying nearly three-quarters of possession in the game, they could only hit the target as many times as their opponents (five). Perhaps better balance in midfield is needed in their latest game, with Luka Modric potentially used to add more creativity in the middle.

If Real van get good service to Kylian Mbappe and the rest of the forwards then they will score goals, but it remains to be seen whether their poor scoring performance in game on will impact them negatively in their second match.

Valladolid Form

Valladolid were excellent in their first outing of the season as they took all three points following their promotion back to Spain's top league.

With a long and arduous season ahead of them as they look to avoid relegation this term, winning game one was a must for Valladolid. However, securing any points in their second match of the year against Real is an entirely different proposition.

While Real misfired in front of goal in game one, I do not predict they will have the same issues in this one as they tear Valladolid apart.
