Rennes vs PSG Preview & Tips

Rennes slipped to a third consecutive defeat in Ligue 1 at the weekend as they lost 3-1 to Lens.

PSG humiliated Marseille in a 5-0 win in their last outing as they made it seven successive wins in Ligue 1.

Rennes can't buy a win in Ligue 1 right now, with their last four matches resulting in the side securing a single point following a draw and three defeats.

Worrying for Rennes will be that their point came against struggling Le Havre back on January 18. Since then, they have lost to Lorient, Monaco and Lens, with their games against Lorient and Monaco seeing them fail to score.

Their last two matches have both ended in over 3.5 goals scored each time, while they have conceded three or more goals in their last three against PSG. While the home side will hope to utilise playing at their own stadium, I predict nothing other than a defeat for Rennes this week.

PSG have only dropped points in five of their 21 matches in the league this season, winning 16 games, drawing three times and losing twice.

With Lens two points behind the leaders and breathing down their neck, PSG have impressed under pressure, winning their last seven matches. Their last outing saw PSG all but end Marseille's hopes of securing the title this year with a stunning 5-0 win that came in a crushing victory.

On the road, PSG have the best record in the league having won seven of their 11 matches, drawing twice and losing twice. Their last three away games have ended in victory, while they have beaten Rennes in their last four meetings. With this in mind, I am backing the league leaders to storm to another win as they continue their stunning run of victories.
