Servette vs Chelsea Tips

Servette have not played a match since they were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea in their European clash last week.

Chelsea hammered Wolves 6-2 on the road as they found their scoring form in front of goal.

  • Chelsea have seen two or more goals scored in all three of their opening matches this season
  • Servette have seen two or more scored in their last four
  • The Blues have won their last two matches

Head To Head

The pair have only met once before, with the Blues winning 2-0 last week at Stamford Bridge.

Servette Form

Servette know they need a big performance in midweek if they are to overturn the two-goal deficit they left London with last week.

While the side did hold their own for large parts of the match, the gulf in class between the pair eventually shone through as the Blues found a way to score twice. Frustrating for Servette was their inability to make any of their chances count.

While Servette have home advantage in this one, they will have to be near-perfect against a Chelsea side that were excellent at the weekend.

Chelsea Form

The Blues went from insipid against Manchester City to stumbling past Servette before humbling Wolves in a supreme performance at the weekend.

While performances under new management can be a little turbulent, Chelsea will hope that their two-game winning run will be extended in midweek as they face a side that would fancy themselves against every week.

The Blues may not be able to hit the heights of their six-star performance against Wolves at the weekend, but I still expect goals in their third-successive win.

Verdict

I am backing the Blues to win this one as the pair share in over 2.5 goals in an entertaining clash.
