South Korea vs Ghana Preview & Tips

South Korea are looking to secure a third consecutive win after they were able to ease to a 2-0 win over Bolivia earlier in the month.

Ghana could not breach a well-marshalled Japanese outfit last time out as the latter secured a 2-0 win.

  • South Korea have won their last two matches to nil
  • Ghana failed to score against Japan in their recent 2-0 loss

Head To Head

The pair have met a total of five times, with Ghana winning four times and South Korea winning once.

South Korea Form

South Korea are trying to build a solid run of form that will enable them to go into the biggest sporting event on earth in 2026 with some real confidence behind them.

Their 5-0 loss to Brazil back in October was a major setback, and it showcased how bad things can get if they are not at the top of their game against the best. They then returned to winning ways with a pair of 2-0 wins over Paraguay and Bolivia.

While both wins came against lesser teams in comparison to Brazil in terms of quality, South Korea should take heart from their wins. Beating a Paraguay side that will be at the World Cup is an excellent result, while they then continued their defensive solidity against Bolivia.

In this one, I back South Korea to embark on another impressive defensive rear-guard as they beat Ghana to nil. Their opponents were denied a goal by Japan in their last outing, and I predict they their scoreless run will be extended to two matches.

Ghana Form

Ghana struggled against Japan in their last outing as they saw a three-game winning run brought to a grinding halt.

Like South Korea, Ghana have managed to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup, meaning their clash this week will be a good barometer as to their quality. While South Korea are not a side that rank among the best in the game, they are very tough to beat at the best of times and will provide a stern challenge.

While Ghana have won their last two against South Korea, they looked rusty against Japan as they failed to breach their opponents. Meanwhile, South Korea were able to secure a second consecutive win with a clean sheet as they put their ability to score and keep their opponents out on full show. With this in mind, I am backing Ghana to struggle to break South Korea down in a frustrating loss.

Verdict

I am backing South Korea to win this one to nil as they make it three consecutive victories with a clean sheet.
