Tottenham vs Arsenal Preview & Tips
Tottenham are hoping that a change in management will help them to end an eight-game winless run in the Premier League.
Arsenal have been poor of late, with the Gunners dropping points against both Brentford and Wolves in their last two league matches.
- Tottenham have seen both sides score in six of their last seven in the league
- Arsenal have dropped points in three of their last four away games in the league (W1)
Head To Head
Arsenal have won seven of their last 10 against Spurs, with Tottenham winning twice and one game ending as a draw.
Tottenham Form
Tottenham have been awful this season, with the side currently sitting in 16th in the league with 29 points. Their tally means they are just five points clear of West Ham and the relegation zone.
While there are a number of teams underachieving in the league right now, Tottenham are the worst of those underachievers. A 12th defeat in 27 matches this season could see Spurs sit just two points above the bottom three.
The hope for Spurs will be that a change of management will see them compete in this match. They will also cling to the fact that they have a massive chance to hand their biggest rivals yet another damaging result.
While Tottenham have their own problems this season, they will go all out to ensure they play a part in Arsenal missing out on the Premier League title. While Spurs have been poor of late, I predict that they will roll their sleeves up this week and deny Arsenal all three points.
Arsenal Form
Arsenal have struggled of late, with a pair of draws against Brentford and Wolves seeing the league leaders struggle.
A 1-1 draw on the road against a Brentford side that sit in seventh was not a bad result, but a 2-2 draw with bottom side Wolves is a result some will predict is the start of a real wobble.
Leading 2-0 in the 56th minute, Arsenal conceded in the 61st and 94th minute to see their usually dependable defence breached twice. Considering Wolves had only scored 16 goals in 26 matches prior to their clash with Arsenal, the Gunners allowing a two-goal lead to slip was huge.
Now, with a clash against arch-rivals Tottenham to come, I am backing against the league leaders taking all of the points in this one. While I predict that both sides will concede, I foresee another damaging result for Arsenal as they go three without a win in the league.
Verdict
I am backing Tottenham/Draw in the double chance market as both sides find the back of the net in an entertaining match.
