Tottenham vs Liverpool Preview & Tips

Tottenham were hammered 3-0 by Nottingham Forest in their last league game as their Premier League woes worsened.

Liverpool edged to a 2-0 win over Brighton in their last league game as they made it consecutive wins in all competitions.

  • Tottenham have lost three of their last five in the league (W1, D1)
  • Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions (W3, D2)

Head To Head

Liverpool have won six of their last 10 against Tottenham, with Spurs winning twice and two games ending as draws.

Tottenham Form

Tottenham have been nowhere near good enough in the league this season, with six wins coming alongside six defeats and four draws.

While Spurs are only six points short off Chelsea in fourth, their season has not been one that has impressed their fans. Indeed, they have only won one of their last seven in the league, losing four times and drawing twice.

At home, Tottenham have been awful. Four defeats have come alongside two wins and two draws. Incredibly, the only sides to have picked up less points at home than Tottenham are Wolves, Burnley and West Ham, with the trio the sides currently filling the relegation places.

While Liverpool arrive in patchy form across the season, I predict that Spurs will really struggle as they fail to take advantage of Liverpool's less-than-stellar away form.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool have been better of late, although they are hardly reaching the lofty standards they set themselves on the back of their Premier League winning campaign last season.

On the road, the Reds have won three of their eight, drawing once and losing four times. Positively, they arrive having beaten West Ham before taking a point from Leeds in their last two Premier League away games. Their last away game in all competitions saw them beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League.

On the back of a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions, I predict that the Reds will find a way to add to Tottenham's Premier League torment.

Verdict

I am backing the Reds to make it six without defeat in all competitions as they take all three points from a Tottenham side in freefall.
