Tottenham vs Manchester United Preview & Tips
Tottenham sank to an insipid 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea in their last league game as the side struggled to throw any kind of meaningful punch in the match.
Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in the league to four matches with a battling 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
- Tottenham have lost three of their last four home games in the Premier League (D1)
- Manchester United have won three of their last four in the league (D1)
Head To Head
United have won three of their last 10 against Spurs, with Tottenham winning five times and two matches ending as draws.
Tottenham Form
Tottenham may have secured a resounding 4-0 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek, but this win should not disguise from their worrying run in the league.
In their last two Premier League matches, Spurs have failed to score in defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea. The latest of those defeats against the Blues saw Spurs abject with and without the ball as they were beaten for the second consecutive home game in the Premier League. They are now winless in their last four in the league on their own patch with three defeats and a draw coming in this time.
With United arriving in surprisingly good form, the onus is on Spurs to start well. However, they have clearly found it tough to match their opponents in the league for goals of late, and I back them to slip to another frustrating home loss this week.
Manchester United Form
Manchester United have impressed in recent weeks, with the side able to pick up 10 points from a possible 12 in the Premier League.
The 17 points they have picked up means they are level on points with their next opponents in sixth, while they are only one point behind Sunderland in fourth. Considering their poor start to the season, United have been able to turn things around by beating Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton, with their 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend a good point on the road.
While United have struggled on the road across the season, they are unbeaten in their last two, taking four points. I back the travelling side to secure another impressive result in their final match before the November international break, with Tottenham consigned to another defeat.
Verdict
I am backing Manchester United to make it five without defeat in the league as they hand Tottenham another damning home loss.
