10 wins across their 34 matches last term was a poor return, while they conceded 56 times and only scored 41 goals. Clearly, Wolfsburg had problem at both ends of the pitch, and they will not face an opponent that will show them any mercy in game one.

While Wolfsburg have the advantage of playing at home in their first match of the season, they host a Bayern side looking to make amends for their awful campaign last time out, meaning I am backing a comfortable loss for Wolfsburg this weekend.

Bayern Munich Form

Bayern Munich will feel they have a lot to make up for this term after their torrid campaign last season. Their third-placed finish saw them miss out on the title by 18 points, with Bayer Leverkusen romping to the trophy.

In preseason, Bayern have looked good, with a string of wins to nil over Tirol, Ulm and Grasshoppers seeing them win with an aggregate score of 11-0.

While Wolfsburg will look to make things difficult for Bayern as they hope to take advantage of any nerves, I cannot see anything other than a Bayern win. Harry Kane was exceptional for Bayern last season despite the woes of his team, and I am backing him to add to his 36 goals across his Bundesliga career.
