Zrinjski vs Crystal Palace Preview & Tips
Zrinjski will fancy their chances of securing a stunning result against Crystal Palace when they host their Premier League opponents in their midweek European clash.
Crystal Palace have not been anywhere near good enough in recent weeks, with the English side currently enduring a torrid run across competitions.
- Zrinjski have won six of their last seven in all competitions (L1)
- Palace have failed to win in 13 of their last 14 in all competitions (L9, D4)
Head To Head
This will be the first time the two clubs have met in a competitive match.
Zrinjski Form
Zrinjski enjoyed a solid Europa Conference League group stage campaign, with the side securing seven points from two wins, one draw and three defeats.
Their reward for a 23rd placed finish is a double-header against Crystal Palace, with their trip to Selhurst Park one they will relish. In the competition, all seven of their points came at home, with their three away games ending in defeats.
With their poor away form in Europe in mind, I am backing the home team to still be in this contest heading into the second-leg after a battling performance on their own patch.
Crystal Palace Form
Crystal Palace were just two points short of finishing in the top eight spots in the Europa Conference League, with their 2-2 draw against KuPS in their final group game costing them.
Their trip to face Zrinjski in the playoffs is one they should win, but they have been awful of late, with their form across competitions very worrying for the Premier League side.
Their 3-2 home loss to struggling Burnley in their last league game saw their two game unbeaten run brought to an end, with five of their last seven away games all ending in defeat. While I predict that Palace will come good in the second-leg, I believe they will return home without an advantage following a testing first-leg.
Verdict
I am backing Zrinjski/Draw in the double chance market as they secure a stunning result in the Europa Conference League.
