Jannik Sinner has only dropped one set at the Shanghai Masters in 2024, with this coming in the third round against Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Bar this 2-1 win, Sinner has looked comfortable against the rest of his opponents, while he easily beat both Daniil Medvedev and Tomas Machac in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively, with his win over Machac ending a very impressive run from his opponent.

While I believe that Sinner will put on show why he is the current world number one, I am backing against him in this one. Djokovic has looked in great form in Shanghai, and I predict that this will see Sinner lose in the final.

Novak Djokovic also boasts a near-perfect record at the Shanghai Masters this year, dropping a single set across his five matches.

Djokovic's 6-4 7-6 win over Taylor Fritz in the last round saw him put in one of his most complete performances at the competition as he eliminated an opponent that had looked good.

While I do not predict that Djokovic will win this one, I do not back him to secure his fifth straights-sets win. Sinner is too good to be kept out of the clash and to lose 2-0, but I believe he will come up short against Djokovic in the final.
