Taylor Fritz has impressed in Shanghai this month, winning all of his three matches in straight-sets.

His clash with Holger Rune was his first outing against an opponent that some fancied to beat Fritz, and yet he dropped just three games on his way to a routine victory.

Arriving on the back of a three-match winning run, Fritz is looking to secure his 48th triumph of the year. He is also hoping to make it two consecutive wins against his opponent after downing Goffin in Qatar back in 2021.

David Goffin Form

David Goffin has had his fair share of tests in Shanghai this month, but he has come through in flying colours each time.

Most notable were his wins over Lorenzo Musetti in the second round and his straight-sets victory of Alexander Zverev in the fourth round. His last triumph saw Goffin really impress, and he will have aspirations of notching another famous win.

However, Goffin takes on an opponent that has had an impressive 2024. and while he has been in good form in Shanghai this year, I predict his run will end in the quarter-finals.
