Chelsea were hugely disappointing in their opening match of the new season as they failed to give Manchester City any real issues, with the Blues slipping to a 2-0 defeat. They then trundled to a far from convincing 2-0 win over Servette in the playoffs of the Europa Conference League.

Some worried that their clash with Wolves could see their short winning run brought to an end, but Chelsea saved their best performance for their latest game as they crushed Wolves 6-2 in a very entertaining match. Noni Madueke scored a hattrick in the match as he filled his boots in front of goal.

While Palace have proved a tricky side to face in the past, Chelsea have a brilliant record against their opponents, and the Blues will hope that they are building something in the early stages of the season.

Crystal Palace Form

Crystal Palace and West Ham were evenly-matched in their last game, but the former failed to take advantage of any of the chances they created as they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham at home.

Palace were guilty of losing concentration across a five minute period that cost them the game, with the Hammers scoring in the 67th and 72nd minutes. Ultimately, they only had themselves to blame as they were toothless in attack and fell asleep in defence.

With a trip to face a Chelsea side that have looked better in recent weeks, I predict that Palace will slip to a third consecutive league defeat.
