Ipswich return to Premier League action for the first time since 2002, with the newly-promoted side set to welcome Liverpool in their opening match.

Liverpool know that they will have to be far better this season if they are to challenge Manchester City in the title race this time round.

Liverpool really fell off in the latter-stages of the 2023/24 campaign as they let outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp down, with the German unable to secure glory in the Europa League and Premier League in his final season with the side.

Now, Arne Slot arrives looking to put his stamp on the team, although the fans will have to wait to see the Reds play their first game at Anfield under their new manager. Despite this, most involved with Liverpool will feel that only a win will do in this one.

While Slot will be given a lot of time even if Liverpool do struggle, Slot and his players will not want to hit the ground running this week, and I predict that Luis Diaz will play a big part in winning their opening match.
