Southampton slipped to a massively disappointing 3-2 loss at the hands of Leicester as they made it three defeats on the bounce in the league.

City have won six of their last 10 against Southampton, with the Saints securing two wins and the other two ending as draws.

Manchester City have been excellent this season, dropping points in just three of their opening 12 in all competitions.

Their 5-0 win over Sparta Prague in the Champions League in the week was one most saw coming, but it was a welcome return to scoring goals for a City side that struggled past a stubborn Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

Erling Haaland's brace was central to their win in the week. and he arrives as the Premier League's top-scorer with 10 goals. While I back City to struggle to keep a clean sheet, I do not expect Haaland to struggle going the other way.

Southampton may have been better in recent weeks, but they still find themselves sitting on a single point after eight matches,

Their 3-2 loss to Leicester at home was a massive chance to end their wait for a win, meaning they arrive for their toughest match of the season on the back of a three-game losing run in the Premier League.

While I predict that Southampton will find a way through a City defence that has conceded in their last seven in the league, I cannot see them winning this one.

I am backing City to win despite failing to keep a clean sheet, with Erling Haaland netting a brace against a team that has conceded 18 times this season.
