Wolves have had to endure a tough start to the new season, with difficult assignments against Arsenal and Chelsea seeing their opening two end in defeat.

Admittedly, a trip to face the Gunners at the Emirates was always a tough assignment, but Wolves would have fancied themselves to get far closer to Chelsea than they actually did. This Wanderers side is far better than the 6-2 beating they succumbed to at the hands of Chelsea, and they were much better defensively against Nottingham Forest in their subsequent game which ended 1-1.

With nine goals conceded across three matches, the focus needs to be on making it even more difficult for the opposition to score. Perhaps then, a clash with Newcastle is the ideal fixture for Wolves to return to. The Magpies have been held by Wolves on their last two trips to Molineux, and Wolves would gratefully take a point from their unbeaten opponents considering their tough start.

Newcastle United had to ride their luck against Tottenham as they saw just over a third of the ball and took less than half the amount of shots of their opponents.

However, in a true show of resolve, Newcastle managed to absorb most of the pressure Tottenham put them under as they secured a win to make it three without defeat this season. Their exploits at St James' Park have been impressive, with two wins in two despite coming under a lot of pressure in both games.

On the road, they were held by Bournemouth in their match at the end of August in a game they would have fancied themselves in. With a stalemate coming from their only away game of the season and six draws in their last 10 against Wolves, I am backing the points to be shared in this one.

I am backing Wolves to secure a point as they make it two without defeat in the league.

While the Magpies are shorter than their hosts with the bookies, they were held to a draw in their only away game of the season, while they have struggled to consistently beat their opponents in recent meetings.
